Extra mileage is charged at 12 lira per km<br \/>\ud83d\udd3a Driving area \u2013 Antalya coast, but longer trips (Cappadocia, Bodrum) are possible upon prior agreement<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h1>\n<h3>Traffic rules<\/h3>\n<\/h1>\n<hr>\n<div>\n<p>Driving rules in Turkey aren\u2019t very different from what you\u2019re used to, but they do have some specifics\u2757\ufe0f<\/p>\n<p>\u2705 <strong>Stay calm, always.<\/strong> This is the most important rule to remember when driving in Turkey.<br \/>\u2705 <strong>Right of way from the right.<\/strong> Turkish drivers don\u2019t usually follow this rule, so always check all directions.<br \/>\u2705 <strong>Pedestrian crossings.<\/strong> It\u2019s not common to let pedestrians cross, even at marked crosswalks. If there\u2019s a car behind you and you decide to stop for a pedestrian, don\u2019t brake suddenly! There\u2019s a good chance you\u2019ll get rear-ended. When you do stop, turn on your hazard lights.<br \/>\u2705 <strong>Flashing high beams.<\/strong> This doesn\u2019t mean they\u2019re letting you pass \u2014 usually, it\u2019s a signal telling <em>you<\/em> to give way.<br \/>\u2705 <strong>Intersections and roundabouts.<\/strong> \u201cMain road\u201d and \u201cYield\u201d signs don\u2019t always work here. It\u2019s safer to slow down and make sure others are letting you through, because sometimes traffic moves opposite to what the signs say.<br \/>\u2705 <strong>Turn signals.<\/strong> Many drivers in Turkey don\u2019t use them and may suddenly turn left from the far-right lane or vice versa. Mirrors are often ignored too. Be ready to guess the other driver\u2019s next move \u2014 think for both of you.<br \/>\u2705 <strong>Traffic lights.<\/strong> If the light turns yellow while you\u2019re moving at speed, don\u2019t slam on the brakes \u2014 the driver behind you may still try to pass during the first seconds of red. Start moving only when the light turns green, so you don\u2019t collide with those \u201cfinishing\u201d on red. But be ready for drivers behind you to honk as soon as the light turns yellow.
